CAVE TRAINING AND SCHOOLS

There are numerous possibilities to participate in cave schools, courses, trainings and cave outings in Austria:

Austrian Speleological Association
Verband Österreichischer Höhlenforscher - VÖH [ link ]

Cave guide course: Two weeks of theoretical and practical training. Held every two years, ends with official exam.

Trainings for cave exploration:

Technical (basic) caving: Safe caving techniques, rope & vertical techniques, basic rope rescue, orientation in caves and on mountains. This course is held every year. More Information (in german) can be found here: Technische Schulungs- und Forschungswoche or contact: chris@cave.at

Advanced caving: Perfection of rope techniques, surveying and mapping of caves and advanced strategies and techniques for exploration. This course is held on demand every few years. It is strongly recomended to attain Technical (basic) caving course before.

Expedition caving / Instructors course:
Group leading, organisation of expeditions and highly specialized caving techniques (light rigging, advanced rope rescue...). This course is held on demand every few years.

Austrian cave rescue [ link ]

Austrian cave rescue organisations are organising trainings and emergency practices on a regular basis. Every member of a caving organisation is welcome to join!


Our club

Our club organises cave outings and offers trainings for caving and rope techniques. We also have highly qualified and experienced cave explorers, who are happy to assist with your questions.
